The Salesian Congregation in the world
The mission of the Salesians of Don Bosco is born from a simple and powerful intuition: every young person, especially the poorest and most vulnerable, carries within a dream that deserves to be accompanied. Today this mission continues in many countries, in schools, vocational training centres, oratories, parishes, social works and projects of human promotion. It is a capillary presence that educates, evangelises and offers concrete opportunities for growth to millions of boys and young people.
Collaborating in this mission means taking part in an educational work that integrates faith, culture and life. The Salesians operate according to Don Bosco’s Preventive System: reason, religion and loving-kindness as the pillars of a formative action that places the person at the centre and builds welcoming, family-like, generative environments. Supporting this mission means helping to create safe spaces, quality educational paths, well-equipped vocational workshops, programmes of psychological support and spiritual accompaniment.
The forms of collaboration are multiple and flexible.
Economic support
It is possible to make free donations, adopt an educational project from a distance, contribute to the construction or maintenance of school structures and youth centres, finance scholarships or emergency programmes. Every contribution is destined for concrete and verifiable interventions, with attention to administrative transparency and accountability.
Volunteering and professional skills
In Italy and abroad it is possible to offer time and skills: teaching, technical training, psychological counselling, management support, communication, fundraising. Professionals, university students, families and retirees can make their know-how available to strengthen the quality of educational services.
Prayer and spiritual animation
The Salesian mission is also an ecclesial work. Those who wish can support spiritually the communities and the young through prayer, eucharistic adoration, participation in missionary animation initiatives in parishes and groups.
Partnership and social responsibility
Companies, foundations and institutions can start structured collaborations: vocational training projects, job placement, support for youth start-ups, corporate social responsibility programmes in the most fragile contexts.
